Our Origin at IISc
Insuflo was ideated at the Utsaah Laboratory of prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, a hub for cutting-edge research and innovation in biomedical devices. The concept emerged from a need to develop an affordable and efficient insulin pump tailored for the Indian healthcare landscape.
Leveraging IISc's strong foundation in biomedical engineering and collaborative problem-solving, the team at Open MedLabs refined Insuflo into a practical solution for diabetes management.

Deval Karia, M.Des. (IISc) and Institute Gold Medalist, leads innovation at Open MedLabs. He specializes in designing affordable medical devices for resource-constrained settings. His work has earned multiple patents and awards, including the BIRAC-Sristi Gandhian Young Technological Innovator Award and the James Dyson Design Award.
